Cop uses doughnuts to disarm woman 'trying to rob' service station

In a case of being in the right place at the right time, an off-duty police officer on his way to work has foiled a robbery attempt at a Brisbane service station, overcoming a woman with a doughnut display.

Police allege a 20-year-old woman entered the store on Pinelands Road at Sunnybank Hills at about 10.30pm on Sunday before picking up two screwdrivers from a stock shelf and making demands for money.

But the off-duty police officer walked into the store and joined the line at the counter after her.
