Police hope to identify men involved in Melbourne bar assault
Police have released CCTV footage of an assault that left a Melbourne crowd controller with head injuries, in hopes of identifying two men involved.
Investigators were told two men were refused re-entry into a Spencer Street bar about 1.45am on Thursday, 24 March.
As a result, one of the men became aggressive and as he moved towards a crowd controller, the employee pushed him away.
The man then punched the venue staff member in the face, which sent him reeling backwards before knocking his head against a wall.
The two men then ran from the scene and were believed to have headed south down Spencer Street and then east along Flinders Street.
One of the men is described as being in his early 20s, possibly of a German background, about 176cm tall with a slim build and at the time was wearing a blue cap, white t-shirt and jeans with a satchel bag.
The second man was wearing a blue jumper and jeans.
Anyone with information about the incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
