Body found inside abandoned mine at Whroo, Victoria

A body has been found in an abandoned mine in the small town of Whroo in northern Victoria.

Prospectors found the body yesterday afternoon and police have since secured the site.

Homicide detective are investigating the incident and have confirmed that they are treating the death as suspicious.

The body is still inside the mine as police continue their investigations.

The cause of death is still unknown.
