Eight-year-old boy dies in pedestrian crash

An eight-year-old boy has died following a crash in a town north of Adelaide.

The collision happened at 8:20am at Hoyleton, near Clare, this morning.

Police and emergency services attended Blyth Plains Road on receiving the report.

The young boy, from the Yorke Mid North, sadly died at the scene.

Blyth Plains Road and Stowe Road are closed to all traffic and detours are in place.

Major Crash officers are at the scene investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.

The boy’s death takes the State’s road toll to 13 compared with 17 at the same time last year.
