Cop in Brazil shoots peaceful protester at point-blank range

A police officer in Brazil has been caught on camera shooting a protester with a rubber bullet at point-blank range.

The demonstrator was taking part in the Occupy Estelita movement in the city of Recife, when he was shot after accidentally knocking off the police officer’s cap.

The man was one of many protesters holding a banner, which was lifted over a group of police officers that were standing in the middle of the road.

It was when the banner gently hit the officer’s head, causing his cap to fall off, that things turned ugly.

Video shows the enraged officer grab the banner and shout at the protesters, who start to boo him.

He then pulls out a shotgun and shoots the young man with a rubber bullet.
