Family finds needles in apples

A family made a shocking discovery when they bit into their apples and found needles.

Sandra Nguyen had been to the local shop earlier in the day and bought five Honeycrisp apples, unknowing of the danger they would pose.

When her father, Can, went to take a bite out of one of the apples, he discovered that a sewing needle was embedded in the fruit.

His nine-year-old daughter, Hannah, also discovered a needle in her apple.

"Hannah was cutting into an apple on a plate, and there was another one," Sandra told CBS.

The family, from California in the United States, informed the store about the needles in the apples, and a spokesperson from the store reportedly removed the apples from the shelves immediately.

The staff contacted police and looked at surveillance footage, but were unable to find out who the culprit was.

They believe that the needles might have been placed in the apples before they reached the store.

"We don't know where it happened," said Sandra. "This is their thing, so they have to check everywhere."
