'Old man haircuts' for naughty children

This discipline technique for misbehaving kids really is a cut above the rest.

Forget the old 'soap in mouth' trick or breaking out the belt, a barber has come up with an inventive - and arguably hilarious - new way to help parents punish their children.

Instead of implementing traditional means of physical punishment, the Atlanta barber is encouraging parents to adopt a new strategy when it comes to disciplining their children - public shaming in the form of 'old-man haircuts'.

The cut involves shaving off the child's crown until he begins to resemble a balding old man.

In a day and age when kids strive to be the coolest in class, you can see why this approach, dubbed the 'Benjamin Button Special', effect is working.

Brainchild of Russell Frederick, who co-owns A-1 Kutz, the 34-year-old cooked up the devilish idea after running out of methods to teach his own naughty son a lesson - and claims he saw immediate results.

This ten-year-old was the most recent victim of the novel new style. His punishment for playing up in the classroom - the bald look. The image was uploaded to social media and widely shared.

Behavioral experts suggest this punishment may be counter-productive and may do more harm than good in the long run, but it hasn't stopped many parents from reaching for the clippers!
