Doctor denies saying Sandilands will die

The doctor who reportedly said Kyle Sandilands has six months to live has denied ever making the statement.

New Idea magazine reported that Dr Edward Jackowski said the shock jock wouldn't live another six months due to his unhealthy lifestyle.

"I never said that, I never said that. I don't know where you got that quote from but I never said that someone would be dead in six months, I would never say that to any human being," Dr Jackowski said on the Kyle and Jackie O show on Kiis FM on Tuesday morning.

"That's not what I'm about so I don't know where you got that information."

The New York-based doctor was interviewed by Jackie O and Big Brother winner Tim Dormer, who was filling in for Sandilands who had called in sick.

"I thought I was doing an interview on the radio with Kyle," Dr Jackowski said towards the beginning of the interview.

The doctor said he had never spoken to Sandilands before and that his specialty is behavioural management and developing fitness programs for people.

"I do a number of quotes..I've been working and advising a number of celebrity magazines for the last 15 years on what celebrities should and shouldn't be doing fitness wise.

"Of course I've never met Kyle I only go on information that is fed to me," he said.

The doctor, who at times appeared defensive as he was questioned by the two presenters, said they would have to ask the magazine why he was quoted as saying Sandilands only had six months to live.

He also said he would love to come on and talk about lifestyle changes with Sandilands and things that would help him.

"At no time did I ever mean to disrespect Kyle, he seems like a very nice gentleman," he said.

The doctor said he was given a number of facts about Sandilands on which to base his advice which he said was fitness, not medical.

Sandilands girlfriend Imogen Anthony jumped to the radio presenter's defence after the magazine article appeared on Monday.

"Kyle has 6 months to live", how f*****g dare you? Trivialising someone's health for a headline is inappropriate as f**k," Anthony tweeted.

"For the record, Kyle does not live a bad lifestyle, at all.

"How about I call you up & tell you your partner has 6 months to live? Society is f****d. Absolutely butt f****d in the sphincter with a knife," she continued.

Sandilands health has been under scrutiny recently as he vomited on air and called in sick.

The presenter even got into a spat with his co-host Jackie O about the amount of sick days he has been taking.
