Top Qld barrister survives plane crash

Queensland's former solicitor-general has survived a light plane crash.

Walter Sofronoff was flying a Tiger Moth biplane that nose-dived suddenly during take-off at Toowoomba Airport on Saturday, ABC Radio reports.

Mr Sofronoff resigned as solicitor-general in March after a public stoush with Attorney-General Jarrod Bleijie.

He said the plane was several metres from the ground when it seemed to lose power and was hit by strong winds.

It dived nose-first into a fence but the barrister was able to walk away unharmed.
