Mum and kids terrorised in home invasion

A mother and her two children have been terrorised in a home invasion in Adelaide’s northern suburbs.

Up to five men kicked in the door of the Salisbury East home on Debra Crescent just before 2am, despite the woman’s efforts to hold it shut.

She then ran to a back room and locked herself inside with her three-year-old and eight-month-old daughters.

They were not injured.

As a police car arrived in the street one of the suspects fled in a stolen blue Commodore and the patrol gave chase, but the pursuit was called off for safety reasons.

Police said the other suspects left through the back of the property and over neighbouring fences.

Elizabeth CIB is investigating and said the attack does not appear to be random.
