Police investigate links between robberies

Police are investigating after robberies at two service stations, and an attempted robbery at another overnight in the Ipswich area.

Two men in a car stopped outside a store on Johnson Road store, Forestdale, just before 2am.

There the passenger of the vehicle entered the store and approached the cashier area with a knife. He ripped the first cash register from its mounting points and fled.

Almost an hour and a half later it's believed the same men robbed a service station on Old Logan Road at Camira.

One man entered the store with a weapon described as similar to an ice-pick, before threatening the console operator and demanding money.

He left with cash in the same car he’d arrived in.

It's believed the same men then attempted to rob a third service station at 3.45am on the Mount Lindsay Highway, at Regents Park.

One of the men approached the entrance and kicked the doors, but they failed to open. The car was last seen driving towards Park Ridge on the Mount Lindesay Highway.

The driver of the car is described as 23-25 years-old, Caucasian with dark hair and wearing a red jacket. The passenger had his face covered but was wearing a blue parka with a hood, joggers and black cargo pants.

The car is described as a white Holden Commodore sedan with the license plate number 974TPL.
