Video of Austin Sigg confessing to murder of Jessica Ridgeway released

A chilling confession video of Colorado teenager Austin Sigg explaining the murder and dismemberment of a 10-year-old girl is being heard for the first time.

The video shows Sigg, 18, in interviews with police detectives, telling them when, how and why he murdered Jessica Ridgeway.

WARNING: Some of the statements in the video clip above and in the text below are disturbing.

Sigg, who has been sentenced to life in prison, confessed his crimes to detectives about how he waited in his car on October 5, 2012 before grabbing her.

DETECTIVE: “So you were, you were out, for lack for a better word you were out hunting?”
SIGG: “Yah. That’s the only word I can think of.”

DETECTIVE: “Had you ever seen her before?
SIGG: “No. She was wrong place, wrong time.”

DETECTIVE: “So when you initially took Jessica you were actually in the back seat of your car?”
SIGG: “Yes, and then I zip-tied her hands and feet.”

He then went on to tell police how the terrified girl begged for her mother.

SIGG: “I lied to her and told her everything was going to be ok.”

SIGG: “The second I pulled her into my car I knew she was dead.”

He further goes on to explain how and why he left Jessica's body in a field because he was certain he could avoid being linked to the evidence.

SIGG: “The dismemberment was from forensic scientist class. Serial killers and the successful ones were the ones who could always make the body disappear.”
