Home invasion spree continues

Police believe two overnight home invasions are linked to a gang responsible for 11 others in Adelaide's northern suburbs.

On Wednesday, police revealed they suspected a group of up to six young Aboriginal men were responsible for a series of 11 home invasions in the past five weeks.

In the latest attack, a woman was allegedly sexually assaulted after three men forced their way into her Davoren Park home armed with a cattle prod at about 5am this morning.

Police are also considering another home invasion at Smithfield Plains at about 5.30pm on Thursday to be linked to the spree.

They say that during that incident, an Aboriginal man entered the property and demanded money, drugs, jewellery and a vehicle.

The gang is now believed to be responsible for 13 home invasions in the areas around Elizabeth, Smithfield, Para Hills, Munno Para, Andrews Farm and Craigmore since September 9.

Police say that most of the properties targeted in the home invasion spree have been linked to drugs.

They have re-issued an appeal for information, with Detective Acting Chief Inspector Steve Taylor asking anyone who becomes a victim to come forward immediately.

“Our primary concern is to solve these violent home invasions,” he said.

“If you are unfortunate enough to become a victim you need to get on to the police straight away.”
