More outbreaks of Hendra virus

Two horses have died after contracting Hendra virus in Queensland.

The virus was found at separate locations in two horses at Ingham and Cawarral near Rockhampton, where the properties have been quarantined.

Rockhampton vet Dr Alister Rodgers died after being exposed to horses with Hendra in September 2009 after another outbreak at Cawarral.

Four people were exposed to the horses, two on each property, and would soon be seen by Queensland Health staff.

Tests are still pending for other horses on both properties, and officers will check dogs and cats on the properties too.
