A man has died after being found face down in the Barwon River at Ocean Grove, near Geelong in Victoria.
The 27-year-old from Ocean Grove disappeared for five minutes and was found in about a metre of water.
Lifeguards and ambulance officers worked for an hour to try to save him but he did not respond to treatment.Police are preparing a report for the coroner, while a post-mortem exam will be conducted to find the cause of death.
