A 48 year old man has appeared in court, charged over the discovery of drugs in a hangar at Jandakot Airport.

Police say chemicals and glassware used to manufacture methylamphetamine were found on a plane which was flown from Busselton yesterday afternoon.

Police have also searched of a number of properties in Perth's southern suburbs and Busselton.

48-year-old Stuart Exeter Hyder has been charged with a string of drugs offences and was refused bail in court today.

He's due to return to court next week.

A 29-year-old man was also charged and is expected in court on Wednesday.

The Operations Manager at Jandakot airport, Darryl Evans, said he'd been working with police for a number of weeks, ahead of yesterday's raid.
