Upper House hearings on track

ABC November 3, 2009, 4:08 pm

The chairman of a Tasmanian parliamentary committee has dismissed speculation hearings will not proceed this Friday.

One member is facing criminal charges and another was reported to be having surgery.

The independent MCL Terry Martin is facing three charges, including having sexual intercourse with a person under the age of 17.

The committee's chairman Paul Harris says another member, Greg Hall, has postponed knee surgery so he can attend the hearings.

The former Police Commissioner, Richard McCreadie, is due to appear on Friday along with the Director of Public Prosecutions Tim Ellis.
