Interest shown in Lady Annie

The West Australian July 1, 2009, 1:30 pm

Tony Sage's Cape Lambert says it has received expressions of interest over its recently-acquired Lady Annie copper mine Queensland, but is not in negotiations for a sale.

Days after finalising the acquisition of the assets of collapsed miner CopperCo, Cape Lambert said today it had received "several expressions of interest" in relation to its recently-acquired assets, including Lady Annie.

"No negotiations have commenced to date," the company said.

The news comes a day after Cape Lambert called to oust the board of Buka Gold.

Cape Lambert, which picked up a 20 per cent stake in the group through the CopperCo transaction, wants to install Mr Sage and two other directors, on the Buka board.

Shares in Cape Lambert were trading 1¢ higher at 33¢ at 11.15am Perth time.
