One man was killed and a woman seriously injured in an horrific crash near Gingin last night.
The crash occurred on Brand Highway just after 6pm, near the intersection of Hoy Road.
A 43-year-old Carnarvon man was killed instantly when the Nissan Navara he was driving was struck by an oncoming Toyota Landcruiser that had already side-swiped a Toyota Camry travelling in front of the Navara.The man's partner was uninjured in the crash.
The 25-year-old female driver of the Camry was taken to Royal Perth Hospital where she is being treated for serious internal injuries and multiple fractures.At the time of the crash there were four children in the LandCruiser, one of whom was hospitalised with a broken leg.
The Landcruiser was being driven by a 48-year-old Geraldton woman.Major Crash Unit are now investigating.
The highway was closed for a number of hours while rescue crews cleared the wreckage.Anyone who witnessed the crash, or saw the LandCruiser driving prior to the crash, is asked to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
