Women have just two more weeks to take advantage of the federal government's free cervical cancer vaccination, which winds up at the end of the month.
Under the federal program all women aged 18-26, as well as 12- to 18-year-olds who are not at school, can be vaccinated at no cost as long as they take their first dose by June 30.
NSW assistant health minister Jodi McKay called on women to take advantage of the free vaccination, which is provided in three doses."Once the free vaccinations end on June 30, immunisation will cost around $450 for three doses," Ms McKay said in a statement.
"Cervical cancer is one of the most preventable cancers."Getting the vaccine now, while it's still free, is an opportunity young women can't afford to miss."
The vaccine will still be provided to Year 7 students free of charge, Ms McKay said.AAP
