New Zealand's biggest ever jackpot has been won by a family syndicate of four people.

The 'Big Wednesday' prize included $34,453,401 cash ($A27,581,224.74) , an Audi R8, a Porsche Cayenne, $250,000 ($A200,172.13) credit on an American Express platinum card, $250,000 ($A200,172.13) cash towards luxury travel, a Four Winns V258 boat, and $750,000 9$A600,625.890 cash towards a bach.

There's going to be no giant cheque, with the funds set to be deposited straight into the winners' bank accounts.

The Masterton residents are also set to receive a copy of 'This Is Not A Dream', a book created by NZ Lotteries with advice for big winners.

NZ Lotteries said 4.78 million Big Wednesday tickets were sold for the record draw, compared to 500,000 in an average week. It generated $28 million ($A22,419,331) in sales.

The biggest previous single NZ Lotto prize was a $19 million ($A15,205,013.42) Powerball jackpot in April last year.

The winners of the draw are due to front up to NZ media this afternoon.
