All Blacks captain Mils Muliaina says his team are up for the second test and ready to make amends for their disappointing loss to France last week.
Speaking after the traditional captain's run ahead of tomorrow night's series decider, Muliaina says it's been a fairly enjoyable week in camp, despite last Saturday's reversal against a physical French outfit in Dunedin.
"The boys definitely didn't need too much motivation. It just took a couple of days early in the week to get up again.
"But there has been that edge to try and improve and learn from the mistakes we made in the weekend. And I've felt this week has certainly gone a long way to doing that," he says.
And the stand in skipper had some extra help in the captaincy department this week with Richie McCaw joining up with the team.
"It's been great. Just having him around the camp and just talking to him one-on-one has been outstanding. Some of his advice has been really helpful for me so it's been awesome having him around."
Muliaina also says the team are likely to be a little more comfortable with South African referee Marius Jonker tomorrow after playing under a northern hemisphere referee last week.
Not that Irishman George Clancy's officiating made any difference, Muliaina says.
"George did a good job last week. I thought he was very fair and pretty consistent. I haven't had Marius too much in the Super 14 but I know the quality he will bring to the game."
Coach Graham Henry agreed with his captain's assessment of the officials last week and hoped there wouldn't be too much difference between how they handle the game.
"You'd hope there's a lot of consistency across the board on how they're going to rule."
And Henry says he is going to meet up with Jonker later today to "try and make sure we're all on the same page going into the game".
"It's just good to hear what he's got to say and if he's got some advice I can pass on to the guys."
