Parliament House on Saturday opened its doors to the public as part of the 20th anniversary celebrations.
The house on the hill was officially opened by Queen Elizabeth II on May 9 1988, following eight years of construction.
On Saturday, the public was allowed a peek behind the scenes of the $1.1 billion building, even into prime minister's office.
The public day will run until 5pm (AEST) and includes guided tours and musical performances.
