NT Nurse of the Year named

A nurse who has worked at Royal Darwin Hospital for seven years has been named as the Northern Territory Nurse of the Year.

Jennifer Byrnes also won the acute care award at last night's nursing and midwifery award ceremony at NT's Parliament House in Darwin.

Ms Byrnes has set up new service at the hospital for patients who need complex care and played a key role in the hospital's response to the Bali bombings and the East Timor conflict.

She has also completed a Master of Clinical Nursing.
