Escaped dogs attack 4 people

Two dogs have been impounded on Queensland's Sunshine Coast after four people were attacked - one seriously this morning.

The dogs escaped from a house at Mount Coolum before attacking people on Marcoola beach about 10.00am AEST.

One man suffered multiple bite wounds and was saved by another man who fought the dogs off with a steel bar.

He remains in Nambour Hospital.

The dogs, believed to be Staffordshire crosses also attacked another dog being walked on a leash by its owner.

A local businessman who was also bitten managed to restrain the dogs until council officers arrived.
