Secure dogs: Australia Post

Australia Post is urging residents to keep their dogs secure behind a fence, after recent attacks on mail deliverers.

A Queensland postal worker suffered a serious attack this week, and 11 Adelaide postal workers have been attacked this year.

Joshua Zugayev from Australia Post says dog attacks can cause serious injuries.

"Dog attacks usually result in just scratches but often they can be far more serious, with wounds that require hospital treatment and stitches and antibiotics," he said.

"So whilst they can be quite minor it is something that can be serious and something that everyone can prevent by keeping their dog locked up."
