Outback ground search for missing toddler

Police have been making a ground search in the Coober Pedy area for missing West Australian toddler Imran Zilic because of new information.

The three-year-old boy was last seen in the outback South Australian opal mining town on April 21 while on an access visit with his father.

The boy's mother reported him missing and his father was found at Kununurra in Western Australia days later.

He is being detained under mental health laws.

Police had also investigated suggestions that the boy and his father may have been in the Northern Territory.

SA police have scheduled a news conference about the case for 1:30pm ACST.
