BT and Siemens Offer Unified Comms for Multinationals

ComputerWire Staff

BT and Siemens Enterprise Communications have announced a converged communications offering for multinational companies to consolidate and converge voice and data communications.

The service combines Siemens OpenScape suite of communications software applications and OpenScale services with BT's MPLS network to enable enterprises to migrate from an existing multi-technology environment to a centrally managed converged communications platform.

Siemens has similar partnerships with AT&T, Microsoft, and SAP for communication offerings, while BT also has joint offerings in partnership with Cisco, HP, and Nortel.

Gerhard Otterbach, chief market operations officer at Siemens Enterprise Communications, said: "This relationship provides a vehicle for large corporations as well as for large public organizations to remove the complexity of separate vendor relationships in each country to manage the billing, customer service, and technology integration challenges associated with a large-scale deployment, while at the same time maintaining the value of their existing investment."
