NCR has reported a 41% increase in net income to $48m for the first quarter 2008, on revenue up 19% at $1.18bn, boosted by strong demand for core products and services.
The company said revenue from products was $603m, up 24%, while revenue from services rose 15% to 580m. Revenue from the Americas grew 15% to 487m, while revenue from EMEA was up 30% at $493m. Revenue from Asia Pacific and Japan grew 7% to $203m.
Bill Nuti, chairman and chief executive at NCR, said: "Throughout this year and going forward, we are focused on implementing our strategies of generating profitable revenue growth, building a leading cost structure and improving our working capital. We have significant work ahead on each of these initiatives, but the progress exhibited by our first-quarter results indicates we are on the right path."
Looking ahead, NCR expects 2008 year-over-year growth of 5% to 7%, with diluted EPS in the range of $1.59 to $1.64.
