Delays likely as union takes action
Qantas passengers could face delays from next week as aircraft engineers begin industrial action.
The union has been given the right to hold 48-hour stoppages in support of a five percent pay claim, The Australian reported.
The union said it was likely to take industrial action from May 15, but would not commence 48-hour stoppages unless the airline did something to hurt its members.
Association secretary Steve Purvinas told the newspaper delays were likely, but safety would not be compromised.
Qantas has insisted it will not bow to pressure to increase wages by more than three percent. - Travelpress travel news
