Tourism bonanza in WA

Western Australia is experiencing a boom in tourist development, with $1.4 billion worth of projects being planned or under construction.

Across the state there are 134 tourism development projects in the offing.

These include 48 projects worth about $428 million currently under construction that, once complete, will make 1459 new rooms available.

A further 86 projects are in the planning phase and if they all materialise, an extra 5285 new rooms will be available.

In addition, 29 projects worth nearly $100 million were completed during 2007, creating 1238 new rooms in WA. - Travelpress travel news
