SACE changes under scrutiny

Principals, teachers and universities are being asked for submissions on changes made to the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE).

The feedback will be used to improve assessment methods and better cater for students with disabilities.

The Senior Secondary Assessment Board of will take submissions until the end of the month.

Chief executive Dr Paul Kilvurt says it is important to know how recent changes have been received at grass roots level.

"It's part of an ongoing process of gaining the experience and the expertise of educational leaders and teachers to ensure that the SACE that we have in the future provides rigorous standards but also assists young people in their learning and their success," he said.

"It will give us direction about how those numeracy requirements will be met within the certificate and it will also give us clear advice and perspectives on how the needs of students with significant disabilities can best be met within the context of the new SACE and its standards."
