An influx of business tourists coming to WA is pushing hotel vacancy rates to all time lows with a new survey showing Perth is one of the hardest places in the world to find a room.
The Deloitte survey shows occupancy rates reached 85 per cent last year, higher than international tourist spots like Singapore, Dubai and London.
The Property Council's Joe Lenzo says hotel room rates have doubled in the past year in Perth to an average of $400 a night and more than 1000 rooms are still needed.
"It is very difficult in Perth to get a hotel room whether you're a business person and more importantly if you're a tourist and if you have a convention then that's the real issue," he said.
