No changes to pipeline plan: Vic Premier

The Victorian Premier John Brumby says there are no changes being considered for the controversial north-south pipeline.

The Government has faced political backlash in central Victoria and it has been reported there are concerns the government could lose the seat of Seymour.

The $1 billion plan involves piping water saved from irrigation upgrades in the Goulburn Valley, to Melbourne.

Mr Brumby has acknowledged it might not be a popular project, but he insists it is the right one.

"The people of Victoria want me and want the governemnt to take the right decisions for the state," he said.

"All of these projects are often controversial at early stages," said Mr Brumby.
