Father of missing toddler in police custody

The father of a missing Western Australian toddler is in police custody near the border of WA and the Northern Territory.

Three-year-old Imran Zilic was last seen on South Australia's Eyre Peninsula with his father on April 21.

Adelaide Police say the boy's mother, Mirsada Halilovic, raised the alarm when the father did not return the boy to her after their visit.

They believe the boy is in Coober Pedy and have sent a major crime detective to the town.

Police in Kununurra have confirmed they have the boy's father, Aalia Halilovic, in custody.
