There has been record cold weather in some parts of South Australia, just a few weeks after the state had set heatwave records.
The weather bureau says Mount Lofty in the Adelaide Hills had a record overnight minimum for April of 1.1 degrees Celsius, compared with the previous lowest temperature of 2.5 degrees.
Strathalbyn, south of Adelaide, had its coldest April night in more than a century and other towns including Renmark in the Riverland and Leigh Creek in the far north also set April records.
Only last month, Adelaide set a record with 15 consecutive days of extreme heat and other parts of SA also set heatwave records.
