Good start to ski season

Good snowfalls at a number of Victorian ski resorts have raised hopes of a bumper ski season.

Between 10 and 15 centimetres of snow fell at Mount Hotham, Mount Buller and Falls Creek yesterday.

Maureen Gearon from the Victorian Snow Reporting Service says it is the second dump of snow in the past six weeks.

"It looks like we might have an early season, which would be great," she said.

"When we get these early falls, it just means that the ground's getting colder so when the snowfall starts to increase. It means that the snow will stick."

"So hopefully it means like last year we'll have skiing on the first day of the season," she said.
