Snow falls in central west NSW

Snow has been reported in New South Wales central west town of Orange.

High winds have caused trees to fall down across the central west region which is also experiencing a cold, wet snap.

Snow has fallen on Mount Canobolas near Orange and ABC listener Susan says it is snowing quite heavily at her place at Springside just south of Orange.

"It is early, but I used to have a vineyard on Mount Canobolas and I can remember picking grapes one Easter in April and it was snowing on Easter Sunday," she said.

"But apart from that, no I haven't known it for a few years now to have snow this time of year."
