More than 100,000 new jobs have been created in New South Wales in the past year.
Figures from the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) show more than half of the jobs were within the transport and retail sectors.
Minister for State Development Ian Macdonald, says the state's unemployment level was at a 30-year low in February at 4.2 per cent.
"Interestingly it's roughly 50-50 between the metropolitan and regional areas, which is a very good thing because it shows that there's balanced growth right across New South Wales," he said.
