Stan Zemanek dies aged 60

By 7News Radio and television personality Stan Zemanek has reportedly died after a long battle with cancer.

Sky News Australia said Zemanek, who recently turned 60, had lost his battle to overcome a brain tumour.

The Sydney radio 2UE 'shock jock' farewelled listeners in an emotional final show earlier this year, which celebrated his on-air career.

He was also known nationally for his role as 'the beast' (host) on the television talk show 'Beauty and the Beast'.

He is survived by his wife Marcella, daughters Gaby and Melissa, and two grandchildren.
