Drugs worth more than $600,000 seized in Sydney

By 7News A man will face court today charged with drug offences after police seized a quantity of cannabis in Sydney's north yesterday.

Acting on information, police conducted surveillance on premises at Waverton.

About 5.15pm, officers arrested a 34-year-old man who was leaving the unit block.

Detectives later executed a search warrant at the address and discovered a sophisticated indoor cultivation system.

They seized 276 cannabis plants and 8kg of cannabis leaf.

The cannabis is estimated to have a street value of approximately $620,000.

The man was taken to North Sydney Police Station where he was charged with drug offences.

He was refused bail and is expected to appear in Manly Local Court later today.
