Eighth person charged over failed ram raid
By 7News
Police in New South Wales have charged an eighth person following ongoing inquiries into a failed ram raid at Glenmore Park, in Sydney's west, earlier this month.
The youth also faces charges over the alleged theft of a van and Toyota 4WD from Mascot on June 7.
An alarm was activated at the Glenmore Park shopping centre at 3.35am on June 12 after a Toyota Hiace van and a Toyota Kruger 4WD were driven into the foyer where a freestanding ATM was located.
A number of men allegedly ran from the scene when police arrived and five were arrested nearby and subsequently charged.
As a result of ongoing inquiries, police attended a unit block in Harris Park shortly before 3pm yesterday and arrested a 17-year-old as he exited the building.
He was taken to Merrylands Police Station where he was refused bail to appear in Parramatta Children's Court today.
