Elderly wife stabs husband then herself

An 80-year-old woman is fighting for her life after stabbing her elderly husband with a kitchen knife before turning it on herself.
It is believed the woman was visiting her wheel-chair bound husband at Thornbury's Arlington Nursing Home.
Sergeant Paul Tymms from Preston police said the motive is still unknown.
"Indications are she has been a loving wife all along," he said.
"She has… inflicted wounds upon her husband than wounds upon herself."
The 81-year-old man remains is in a serious condition.
He was transferred to the Royal Melbourne Hospital with wounds to his stomach.
