Mokbel to face second murder charge

By 7News Captured Australian drug lord Tony Mokbel will face a second murder charge if he is returned home from Greece.

Mokbel has already been charged with murdering Melbourne underworld figure Lewis Moran.

Victorian police are refusing to name the second alleged victim.

It is understood Mokbel could try to use his Greek-born baby daughter to avoid extradition.

Commissioner Christine Nixon said police have about 40 days to present their extradition case to Greek authorities.

"The legislation and the treaty require us to inform the Greek authorities of what offences we intend to lay," she said.

"We have to have all the material."
