Mokbel arrested in Greece

Victorian police said convicted drug baron Tony Mokbel has been taken into custody by Greek authorities.

It is believed the 41-year-old was captured in a coastal suburb on the southern side of Athens.

Mokbel disappeared 15 months ago, before being sentenced to nine years in jail for trafficking cocaine.

He has since been charged with murder.

The Federal Government is expected to seek his extradition.
